Mrs. Gish, CMS Media Specialist, and Mrs. Bullock, CMS Social Studies teacher, wrote a grant through Indiana Humanities to purchase the novel "My Brother Sam is Dead" for all 8th grade students. The novel is based on the American Revolution and students will be reading it during Social Studies class and SRT. A book kickoff will take place for each class during the week of October 17th in the media center. Follow @CMS_SStudies on Twitter to see what the students are doing.
The CMS Middle School Media Center received a Library Service & Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the Institute of Museum & Library Services. Grants were received for two consecutive years. 2014-15 & 2015-16. Funds were used to purchase Kindle Fires, Ipads, audio/visual production station, green screen and movie making enhancements.
2015-2016 CMS received the Lowe's Toolbox for education. These funds allowed us to create a Digital Learning Lab, where students can explore and learn to use technology tools. We received tech chairs, Lego Mindstorms, and BB8 programmable robots.
