Volunteer opportunities are always available. Some examples are donating food for Parent Teacher Conferences and Staff Appreciation, working at the Student Supply Store, working at the Book Fairs, and chairing a PTO area.
Our Student Supply Store is located at the South Concession area of the main gym, south entrance #20, where buses drop off. The store is staffed by volunteers. Hours are every morning from 7:15 - 7:50 a.m. For details see our Supply Store page.
The PTO produces a bi-monthly newsletter called CMS Happenings. The newsletter is emailed to parents and contains a variety of information about PTO fundraisers, the school supply store, book fair, and events such as concerts, dances, and sports. If you would like to receive the newsletter, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the parent and student names, student grade, and email address. Other ways of signing up for the newsletter are to complete the form in the office, or download the form from our Helpful Documents page and mail it to the school or drop it off at the school office.
All volunteers who will physically be in the school are required to have a background check. It is REQUIRED by Duneland School System (no cost involved) and just a way of keeping our kids safe. There is no credit check involved. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the Parent Volunteer Form located in the Helpful Documents page. You will also need to complete the Background Check Form, which can be obtained from the CMS office. Both these forms should be submitted to the office together.
