The mission of Bailly Elementary School’s Counseling Program is to be proactive in helping ALL students make sound choices in areas that impact academic achievement and social-emotional health, as well as to enable all students to become successful, productive citizens and life-long learners in a diverse and changing world.

My name is Amy Snyder and I am the School Counselor at Bailly Elementary School. I graduated from Purdue University Northwest with my Master's Degree in Education for School Counseling.

I work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to help support the academic, social/emotional and college/career needs of all students.  I provide classroom lessons, coordinate school-wide initiatives, and provide responsive services.

Individual and group counseling is provided on a short-term basis.  While I am happy to meet with students individually and in small groups, counseling at school should not be considered a substitute for mental-health counseling for on-going mental health needs.
If you are interested in learning more about the role of a school counselor at the elementary level, please check out this article from the American School Counselor Association.

*Regular office hours during the school year are 7:25-3:00pm.  During school breaks I will check and respond to email and phone calls periodically.  If you or a family member is experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or contact a medical health or mental health provider.
