Title I

    

     Title I, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), is the largest federally funded program for elementary and secondary schools. The purpose of this program is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach proficiency on state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. Title I services focus on providing supplementary instruction to help improve the academic achievement of students who need assistance above and beyond regular classroom resources.
